Orange / Kitthale hannu sasuve
My husband's family are from Heddese, a small beautiful village near Sringeri in karnataka.I have noticed that the folks there are very creative in cooking. They use various combinations of fruits & vegetables and come up with delicious dishes.
Ingredients:
orange ( 2 medium sized peeled oranges)
Coconut ( 1/2 cup)
mustard ( a few seeds for tadka)
oil (1 spoon)
chillies (2 )
salt
Saute chillies in a few drops of oil for 30 seconds. Grind coconut, chillies with adding water.Mix the ground mixture along with the peeled oranges.Add salt to taste.Heat the remaining oil and add mustard seeds and pour it over the mix. This tastes great with plain rice.
